confetti tights c/o Hanes Hosiery
pink pumps / similar and on sale
pink wrap bracelet c/o Urban Expressions
gold bracelets c/o Kendra Scott

When I think of springtime, those bright white tights that all moms put their little girls in for Easter pop into my mind - remember those? Well, I definitely won't be sporting white hose this Sunday, but I have found a much better option. When Hanes asked me to come up with a refreshing take on spring hosiery, I was immediately inspired by their confetti dot tights (of course). I was also really excited to see that Hanes Hosiery is offering a wider selection of spring hosiery options for all of our spring events.

It's especially a good time to rethink your party outfit situation for all those spring weddings and showers coming up since it hasn't been warm enough to get a tan yet... and I am always afraid of blinding people with my pale legs before I've gotten some sun on them. Hanes has also come up with an answer for that too - hose that give the illusion of tan legs. Seriously. They're called Sunkissed Tights and come in multiple skin tones!

AND a post this special must have something else involved, right? Right! Hanes is hosting a Save the Date Sanity sweepstakes from April 1-25 (still time left!). The winner will receive $1000 and a sampling of these fabulous tights. There are also daily winners and you can enter once a day to enter. Hop on over (Easter pun?), to the Hanes Hosiery Facebook page for more information!

Now on to the dress deets! When I found the confetti tights, I immediately thought of this hot pink Jolie and Elizabeth dress. It's just kind of perfect for playing dress up this month. It has double the layers of pink fabric because you can never have enough, and it will match all the jelly beans and other Easter candy I'll be scarfing down on Sunday. What wedding diet? Speaking of weddings, Jolie and Elizabeth has you covered for all your wedding events this spring. Browse their full collection of darling dresses on the J&E website!

Weekend Dreaming

pleated maxi skirt / similar
lace crop / love this one

This outfit is the epitome of spring for me. Sheer pleats and a lacy crop on the most gorgeous weekend walk. It's hard not to feel happy when wearing something so sweet.

I love how this skirt features double slits allowing it to really catch the wind when it blows. I'm always drawn to this coral, light pink color too which is super flattering on everyone. The crop top gives you an innocent little peak of skin to allow the sunshine to soak in. If I were at Coachella, I'd totally have worn this lace top and bandeau. Can't you see it with a daisy chain or a flower crown.

I paired my outfit with these sparkly jeweled sandals by Fibi & Clo - absolutely gorgeous when the sun reflects off the stones. These flats would dress up even the most casual of jeans or sundress outfit in an instant. I must admit that they made me feel pretty glamorous and effortless this day.

Southern Tea Bridal Shower Invitations

2

Monday, April 14, 2014

I'm sharing my bridal shower invitations with you today! Some of my very closest and oldest friends from back home threw me the most perfect shower two weeks ago. We had big hats, light bites and lots of laughs. I love these ladies and couldn't imagine growing up with better friends or creating longer lasting friendships.

Originally, we went back and forth about the shower theme - but we knew we wanted to wear hats. Since it was too early in April, the Louisiana Downs race track wasn't open for races, so we tossed out having a Derby theme. Sooo what better idea than a Southern Tea with high tea attire? (Yep, you'll see some outfit photos coming up soon from topped off with a fab fascinator.)

My sister, who was also a hostess, made these amazing macarons from scratch! I've already submitted a request for batch 2.

So many sales going on this weekend that are worth checking out! You'll want to get your spring essentials while saving some some $$$ for summer travel. :)

Wow, okay so this week flew by. I felt really productive because I was able to mark a lot off my to-do list. As a whole, I just felt more alert and more focused - whatever the reason, I hope it sticks around for a little while longer. I'm going to attribute it to me paying more attention to what I'm eating, what I'm reading and what goals I'm setting for myself. It's crazy how spring puts you in a completely fresh and clear mindset. Sunshine = theraputic. And tomorrow, you can catch me soaking up that sunshine and music AND great food at French Quarter Fest in New Orleans. It's going to be the perfect weekend for outdoor activity, and I plan to take full advantage.

What can you expect next week on APoL? Well, a little bit of festival, a little bit of invitation bliss and a very fun collaboration with a super fun hosiery brand. OH and a giveaway that you'll want to share with your BFF!

Lovely Discoveries - 4/10/14

Thursday, April 10, 2014

This is going to sound crazy, but I just got my very first order from BaubleBar. I receive all the emails, check the site regularly, but I had been holding out on ordering. I was afraid that initial order would create some sort of site addiction that would start a chain reaction of impulse jewelry buying. (And if you saw my jewelry organization post from last week, you already know I have a serious accessories hoarding problem.) However, I recently found THE must-have necklace - I didn't have anything like it, so it was a complete and utter necessity. You know one of those purchases. So I did it, I ordered my first BaubleBar necklace - the Courtney bib necklace. Y'all. It's pretty fabulous, and it's already sold out and been restocked. Thus why it's made it's way into my Lovely Discoveries series - I'm that serious about it. Get it while you can HERE.

And speaking of baubles...

......................................................................................

Here's another bauble service to know - I had the opportunity to try out Color By Amber's Bauble Box. The box is a part of the perks of being a member of the Color Club - where members can get discounts, free shipping on orders, advance purchase opportunities and a monthly Bauble Box with exclusive Color By Amber pieces worth $65 that cannot be purchased in the regular collection. I loved these colorful bangles that are right now perfect for festival looks with big arm stacks.

All of Color By Amber's collection uses sustainable materials that give back to women in artisan communities.

......................................................................................

And speaking of products that give back, my next discovery is LSTN a company that's mission statement is that they're not about headphones, they're about connecting people globally through music and sound. LSTN makes high quality headphones from reclaimed wood, and every pair sold helps to restore hearing to a person in need through Starkey Hearing Foundation. So far, LSTN has helped over 15,000 people hear in Keya, Peru, Uganda and the United States!

I think these are an amazing gift to give to your favorite guy for Easter, for Father's Day. Or just a really cool gift for yourself knowing that you're helping out LSTN's mission!

Hope you loved today's discoveries! If you have a product, service or tip that you'd like included in this post series, please email apinchoflovely@gmail.com!
