Knit and Flare

This post was originally supposed to go up yesterday afternoon... as you can see, it never got finished. I am rather struggling with balancing work, blogging and life right now, so apologies for the lateness!

I like to play with proportions when it comes to separates like pairing anything oversized with an interesting silhouette. Once again, I'm wearing this go-to cable knit sweater because it's super comfy and goes with everything - it even makes a summery skirt take a turn towards fall.

This scuba flare skirt was originally part of the late summer collection which means it's now on sale via the J.Crew website. They also recently brought out the same skirt in solid colors that are now also on sale, so if you love the look, now's the time to grab it. Last time I checked, the sizes were limited! Links to both skirts are above in the outfit details or below in the shop the post widget.

For me this look says that you don't have to be predictable with fall outfits. It's fun to try new proportions and patterns that you wouldn't normally wear together. And who knows, you might even discover a new style that works for your body type. I typically don't wear that many skirts that run tight across the front, but once I tried this one on, I found out that it will work on me despite my height (much like the flip skirt from Loft in Tuesday's post).

It might be the end of October, but really, we should keep breast cancer awareness in our minds all year round. You can do this by wearing Everistta's limited edition silver bracelet that supports early breast cancer detection.

To enter to win these two beautiful bracelets, use the Rafflecopter widget below. One of the requirements is that you tweet or comment your  experience with breast cancer and/or what it means to you. No story should be left unheard!

The Trench Vest

Tuesday, October 28, 2014

Today, I'm featuring two fall items that are sure to add personality to any wardrobe -
the quilted flip skirt and the trench vest. Both seen here, I wanted a casual and comfortable way to wear these very versatile pieces. Over the next few weeks, I'll show many different ways to wear each one, so you can seamlessly integrate similar items into your own closet!

The color palette remains neutral while the slip-on sneakers create interest with an animal print pattern. (I'm sure by now you're seeing a few constants in my outfits - these Dr. Scholl's shoes and my Gigi New York Parker satchel.) I'm loving the crisp mix of white, gray, tan and black. Sometimes the best color combos turn out to be neutrals. Such a fresh outfit option for fall weekends out and about!

This quilted, gray skirt is a blogger favorite! Jenn and I just happened to both pick up this flippy skirt for fall proving that it will work on both short and tall body types. To see how she styled hers, visit Haute Off the Rack!

Instagram Lately +

Monday, October 27, 2014

As you might already know, I am constantly posting new things on Instagram (@apinchoflovely) before they make it on the blog. Some of the posts are completely shop-able directly from IG now that I'm using the app Once you sign up for a account, when you like a photo on IG that includes the handle and hashtag, the product details will be sent directly to your email inbox. No more having to ask "where did you get that?" and then having to track it down on the website. It literally sends you the exact product link making things super easy! The best part is that many bloggers have also adopted the use of this app. If you follow a lot of bloggers, you will be able to use this service for every one of their Instagram accounts too!

Here are a few recent posts:
