The rewardStyle Party #rSnyfw

I mentioned in this morning's post the rewardStyle party at The Empire Hotel during fashion week. Here's a little bit of explanation and a peek inside the party!

For this event, rewardStyle rewarded it's publishers by hosting a mix and mingle, rooftop fete complete with fashionable cocktails and party favors. Brands like Piperlime, Bluefly, Ann Taylor, Topshop and Kendra Scott set up booths for networking and product viewing. Party goers who wanted to talk business could meet one-on-one with brands in attendance, and those who just wanted to have fun had plenty of opportunity to do just that.

I, for one, was not in the mindset to do business (especially at the end of my fashion week stay), so instead, I helped myself to the Kendra Scott refreshment bar and Piperlime's confetti cake balls - SO good guys. And most importantly for me, it was an opportunity to just hang out and connect with new people. It was definitely inspiring to have so many talented bloggers in one place! Thank you to rewardStyle for hosting such a beautiful event!

I'm a Barbie girl at heart maybe that's why I can't resist the color hot pink. It's also the first day of October which is Breast Cancer Awareness month, so I've been holding off on this post just for this occasion! When I saw this drop-waist peplum dress on ASOS, I knew it was a party dress. A dress for a party with drinks and fun people - which is exactly why I chose to wear it during NYFW. This particular day of my trip was something not like the others though. It was the day of the rewardStyle party at The Empire Hotel. But more on that in today's second post...

If you are a girl who likes to stand out at a party (or has a birthday coming up), this is the dress for you! I was super nervous about the fit since I'm not one for pencil skirts or anything fitted in the hips. My height makes it very difficult for fitted dresses to hit my waist/hips in the right place. More often than not, the torso is way too short. #tallgirlproblems However, I was very pleased with how the scuba material avoided any weird fit issues on me!

I definitely think this would be such a good semi-formal dress for any sororities that haven't had their event yet!

For accessories, I stuck with metals and black accents. You don't really need much more color when you're dress is this pink! With the low neckline of the dress, I'd recommend a bib necklace or something shorter than the actual line of dress.

I'll be pairing more or my pink finds for October throughout the month!

Remember that old rule about not wearing black and blue together? Yeah, I never understood why those two colors were not supposed to be friends. I mean they look so great together! Take for instance this Sachin & Babi Element dress that incorporates bright blue stitching on black and white abstract fabric. The fabric by the way fit like a glove - in a good way - because once again, you cannot go wrong with a fit and flare dress. It's just an impeccable fit when it comes to flattering your shape no matter what it is.

For fall, I like to wear a bootie or strappy heel to give the more feminine silhouette of a fit and flare a more edgy look. The bold earring and cateye sunglasses along with the Parker satchel give the entire outfit a more polished and sophisticated look. And don't forget a good lip color. Once again, I'm using the Stila Stay All Day product in Aria which has quickly become one of my new favorites for a good opaque color that lasts for hours.

Spring Jewelry Preview with Kendra Scott

If you're a regular reader of APoL, you already know that I'm an avid supporter and fan of southern jewelry designer Kendra Scott. At this point, my relationship with her pieces has reached a BFF level. I almost always have at least one piece of KS jewelry on me at all times whether it's a ring or a pair of druzy studs. I swear it's not obnoxious the amount of KS jewelry bags I have inside my jewelry drawers. It's completely normal...

With all that being said, I was in heaven in the NYC showroom. The Kendra Scott team invited small groups of bloggers to preview the holiday and spring jewelry collections while we were in town for fashion week. Wine, desserts and gorgeous jewelry - what girl could ask for more? I can't spill all the details that are coming soon, but there are SO many things on my wishlist from the holiday collection. I may or may not have tried to pile it all onto my hands in the second photo. Expect more druzy, new color stones and maybe even some gunmetal pieces...

Special thanks to the Kendra Scott team for having us!
